Squad History

Death Is Everywhere Squad was formed in 2002 by three members of Secret Attack Squad, (-SAS- ) who left to start a new squad.
The new squad
Death Is Everywhere had a squad tag using the yen sign on each side the squad initials ¥DIE¥ and was active for 3 or 4 years.

In order to be an official Nova squad and have your squad listed on the NovaLogic company website for member recruitment and email contact, The player who registered the squad had to change the squad contact information with NovaLogic. The Founder of -SAS- was no longer active and refused to contact Novalogic to update the squad and turn it over to another member. As a result Sky Dive-SAS- who changed his call sign to Snr. Arch Angel ¥DIE¥ , Reaper-SAS- and Shadow-SAS- left Secret Attack Squad to start ¥DIE¥ taking most of the current -SAS- members with them. Secret Attack Squad folded at that time.

One of the interesting facts about ¥DIE¥ squad was the use of junior members, these were members under 18 years old. Often because most of the members were 30 to 40 year old adults (we had no woman members) we would be indulging in alcoholic beverages and using profanity over yahoo group voice chat while we played,  So junior members were not admitted into the group voice chat. Junior members used a JR¥DIE¥ tag on their player name.

As a side note when we started ¥DIE¥ none of us could build a website. ~LRS~ squad stepped in and built the first squad site we had, Over the first few months
CO. Shadow ¥DIE¥  and CO. Reaper ¥DIE¥ both leaned to create websites, Shadow built the squad site and maintained it for the rest of the time ¥DIE¥ has active in Comanche 4. Reaper would return the favor to -CAS- squad when they formed by building theirs when none of them could do it.

The core group of the ¥DIE¥ members moved to Novalogics Black Hawk Down when it was released in 2003, Playing Comanche 4 less and less as time went on.
By the time NovaLogics Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising  was released (2004) A few of the original members of ¥DIE¥ played it, but most of the members had
moved on.
¥DIE¥ squad members of interest:

Snr. Arch Angel ¥DIE¥
Co-Founder of Death Is Everywhere Squad

Arch Angel or AA for short was from Canada, Registered ¥DIE¥ with NovaLogic as a official squad.
To Join ¥DIE¥ squad pilots needed to be invited, most recruitment was done in servers during game play
by Arch Angel. Typically a player would be invited to a private server and the senior members of ¥DIE¥
would play and chat with the prospect. Pilot skill was not much of a factor. The squad gamed together using yahoo for voice so we were more interested in players who fit in than how good they could play.

CO. Shadow ¥DIE¥
Co-Founder of Death Is Everywhere Squad
First player to put out 4X4 team death match format maps

Shadow hosted and maintained the squad website, While we were still members of -SAS- Shadow was the first player in C4 to start messing with 4X4 team format maps, and made the first 4X4 format team death match maps used in C4. Shadow was from Australia, and because of the time difference between Australia, 24 hours ahead of the USA and Canada it was an inside joke at ¥DIE¥  to tease Shadow about riding a time machine.

CO. Reaper ¥DIE¥
Co-Founder of Death Is Everywhere Squad
Creator of Get Ranked player stats program and website
Creator of Comanche 4 Information tech/tips website
Released 1 hit server files
Worked on king of the hill game types with Bane and Master X
Created and released the first set of TKOTH/KOTH maps with server instructions
Released the night vision mod and new evn files for C4
Released the Odyssey Mod in beta

From the USA, Reaper made most of the maps used by ¥DIE¥ and ran a 4 to 6 player server using custom maps called Get Ranked for over a year and a half. Get Ranked was a stats server open to every one who played C4. The stats (games played, kills, and deaths) were collected using a command line option in C4 to a text file in the game folder, then added to a spread sheet by hand to keep track of them. About once a week the Get Ranked website was updated to add the latest stats for each player who played the server. At it’s peak the Get Ranked website had over 150 players listed. Once the issue of no counts came to a head in game version 1.5 the C4 community split and Get Ranked was a casualty of players arguing in the servers and flaming on game forums.
Reaper also hosted a website named Comanche 4 Information, a game tech/tips website directed toward
beginning and intermediate players. This was the first website to post Sparrow’s Survival Guide making it available to the public so all players could access it.
Over the years has worked to unlock hidden game types and create maps for those
unlock games types for C4.
As well as created and released varous game mods.
As ¥DIE¥  faded into memory and members moved on, Reaper has stayed around the NovaLogic game community as Reaper -NCS- of Night Crew Squad.

XO. Sparrow ¥DIE¥

Author of Sparrow’s Survival Guide
From The USA, When CHAOS folded. Sparrow joined ¥DIE¥, Members of the C4 community should know who Sparrow was from his player tips document Sparrow’s Survival Guide used even today as the most popular
go to for game play information.
